The Preschool curriculum is underpinned by a Jewish ethos and operates within a strong value system, which follows our children through to the end of their schooling at Kadimah College.
We are welcoming and inclusive of all children and their families. The role represents children and their families from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds and this diversity is valued and celebrated along with children who present with special needs. We operate within and foster a strong sense of community, belonging, and safety while valuing each child and their family as being unique and contributing in their own special way.
All major Jewish festivals are celebrated with the whole school and our parents are invited and welcomed to participate in these occasions also.
Learning about Jewish festivals, culture and being exposed to the Hebrew language form a core part of the daily programme and are integrated across all areas of the curriculum. Te Whariki, the New Zealand Early Childhood Curriculum forms the basis of our curriculum in conjunction with Kei tua O pae and other innovative practices.
We view our children as capable and competent learners and communicators. We are committed to and endeavor to provide the right conditions and encouragement in order for each child to reach the maximum of their potential. We believe by providing a positive early childhood experience the children will develop a strong foundation on which to build a life time of learning.
Because we are an inner city co-educational preschool, this allows us to experience a range of learning opportunities offered in the central Auckland area. We regularly plan excursions at least once a term and walk to the Aotea Centre, the Art Gallery and the Auckland Central Library.
