Vision, Mission and Values

Our Vision

Our aim is to develop children who are personally fulfilled with a secure sense of identity and purpose to their lives.

Our Mission

To provide a comprehensive educational experience from pre-school to Year 8 in a contemporary Jewish environment.  To encourage the pursuit of academic excellence and a love of learning by nurturing the unique potential of each child. To develop caring and contributing members of the Jewish community and New Zealand society.

Our Living Values

Learning – Fostering a culture which promotes knowledge fulfillment and creativity

T’fillah – Incorporating prayer, belief and spirituality

Identity – Respecting individuality, diversity and community

Middot (Torah values) – Encouraging good deeds exemplified by compassion, kindness and empathy

Partnership – Strengthening the ties between families, community and school

Children will be encouraged to:

  • Treasure Jewish values.
  • Develop a rich sense of history and ethical purpose.
  • Strive for excellence by aiming high and by celebrating their success.
  • Seek innovation inquiry, and curiosity, by thinking critically, creatively, and reflectively.
  • Demonstrate integrity – being honest, responsible, accountable and acting ethically.
  • Embrace diversity – as found in our different culture, languages and heritages.
  • Value participation in the wider New Zealand community to advance the common good.
  • Promote ecological sustainability – which includes caring for the environment.

We aspire for Kadimah children to:

  • Have an understanding and appreciation of Jewish prayer, practice and values.
  • Be confident and happy with a strong sense of self belief.
  • Have a love of learning and achieve their personal best in academic, sporting and cultural pursuits.
  • Be self-motivated and disciplined.
  • Display a strong sense of moral judgment.

A booklet containing information about Jewish festivals and customs and how they are observed at school is available to all Kadimah parents via the school office.
